The teacher of the 21st century in a united Europe is not just a transmitter of knowledge, but a mediator, innovator and guide of European values. His role is aimed at preparing responsible citizens who are able to successfully integrate into modern society and make their contribution to its development. The proposed Jean Monnet module will focus on learning and sharing the European Union’s experience in preparing a new generation of teachers capable of meeting the challenges of the 21st century, through integrated educational, professional and social initiatives aimed at developing modern competences, adapting to the digital era and ensuring inclusion. The module aims to further advance the European policy on effective skills and ensure that 21st century skills remain a top priority across Europe.
The leading forms of implementation of the module are: educational modules “Developing 21st century Skills of the teacher: from EU to UA” (for postgraduate students); “European Practices for the Development of Creativity”; “Digital Education: the EU experience for Ukraine (for master’s students); summer school “Skills of the Future: the 21st Century Focus and EU Innovative Initiatives” for higher schools and VET and general education schools teachers, civil activists; research and practical conference “New challenges in forming the 21st century skills: EU approaches”, etc.

Jean Monnet Modules “European political integration: historical retrospective and nowadays”

The proposed module “European political integration: historical retrospective and nowadays” is to solve the problem of lack of youth’s awareness about the EU as a political actor. For present students will have a unique opportunity to develop holistic knowledge on European political integration and the EU’s Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and Common Security and Defence Policy (CSDP) in particular to become active participants in discussing and studying international policies in this area. The module will contribute to the students’ pedagogical culture forming and promoting the EU experience in the international security implementation.
Based on the analysed students’ needs and taking into account the University specialties specifics we propose specialized training course of the module: “European political integration: historical retrospective and nowadays” for history students and training course “An introduction to European political integration” for pedagogical education, humanitarian, natural sciences students. In the future, the courses will become a normative part of the University curriculum. During three years introducing the module will involve about 300 persons with possible further distribution of the experience of the European studies implementation among students, teachers, professors, government officials and other interested population groups.

The Jewish cemetery in Hlukhiv
Topic: Ukrainian-Israeli bilateral project Total project budget: 198000 hryvnia Implementation period: 2023-2024 The Jewish cemetery in Hlukhiv (Sumy region, Ukraine) is the only Jewish necropolis in the east of Ukraine where many gravestones from the 19th – early 20th centuries have been preserved. Many of them are of historical and artistic value. Because of the destruction of gravestones under the influence of anthropogenic and natural factors, the issue of preserving individual gravestones and Hlukhiv Jewish cemetery as a whole has been raised for many years.

Hlukhiv Region through the Centuries: A DIGITAL COLLECTION OF HISTORICAL AND ARCHITECTURAL MONUMENTS
Topic: cultural project of Ukrainian Cultural Foundation Total project budget: 765930,96 hryvnia Implementation period: June-October, 2025 This project is implemented by the Oleksandr Dovzhenko Hlukhiv National Pedagogical University with the financial support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation under the program “Cultural heritage” (Lot 1. Digitization). Its purpose is to preserve the cultural heritage of the Hlukhiv region and make it accessible to all. The main idea is to create a digital collection of significant historical and architectural monuments that serve not only as symbols of the past, but also as a living part of today’s cultural identity. The collection includes the most valuable monuments of the region, preserved in digital format for future generations. In addition, 3D models of lost monuments are being recreated from archival photographs. The project unites cultural heritage with modern digital technologies, offering an innovative approach to preserving and promoting the history of our homeland. Unique objects are presented as three-dimensional models, which allow not only detailed study, but also a virtual “journey through time,” immersing visitors in the atmosphere of past eras. The online resource opens new opportunities for scholars, local historians, students, and the wider public.

Hetman’s Hlukhiv Region: Digital Reproduction of Historical Sites and Traditions

The project is implemented by Oleksandr Dovzhenko Hlukhiv National Pedagogical University with the financial support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation within the framework of the program “Culture. Regions” (Lot 2“Reintegration through Culture”). This initiative is strategically important for promoting knowledge about the Hlukhiv period in the history of the Hetmanate, preserving the region’s historical memory, and fostering reintegration through culture.
The project brings together cultural heritage, digital technologies, interactive teaching methods, and historical reconstructions, creating an innovative format for preserving and popularizing the history of Hlukhiv region. The primary goal is to preserve and digitally reproduce Hlukhiv’s rich heritage in the face of potential damage or destruction, to study and promote the history of Hlukhiv, to support cultural reintegration of society, and to strengthen regional and national cultural identity. This will be achieved by creating a multifunctional cultural and artistic product that combines historical reconstructions and artistic events; a digital collection of unique monuments; the activities of the cultural and educational hub and the youth group at the NGO “Cossack Club ‘Harda’”.
