On January 29, 2026, at Oleksandr Dovzhenko Hlukhiv National Pedagogical University, a conference of the labor collective was held. During the meeting, the activity report of the Acting Rector, Oleksandr Kurko, Doctor of Historical Sciences and Professor, was presented. The report summarized the University’s performance according to its target indicators in 2025 and outlined strategic objectives for 2026.

The Acting Rector, Professor Oleksandr Kurko, delivered a comprehensive report in which he characterized the institution’s performance under the conditions of prolonged martial law, security restrictions, and the transformation of the educational environment.

The report highlighted the University’s key areas of work in 2025, including ensuring the stability of the educational process, compliance with higher education standards, and the functioning of the internal quality assurance system. It was emphasized that throughout the reporting year the higher education institution maintained the continuity of the educational process, adapted learning formats to security conditions and the needs of students, and provided organizational and methodological support to faculty and students.

The head of the institution focused particular attention on the development of research activities, increasing publication output at national and international levels, participation in grant projects, and international cooperation programs. It was underscored that research remains an essential component of the University’s institutional capacity.

In terms of personnel and social policy, attention was drawn to the preservation of human resources potential, support for the professional development of academic staff, cooperation with the trade union organization and student self-government bodies. Considerable attention was also given to ensuring the safety of participants in the educational process, equipping protective facilities, and maintaining inclusivity and accessibility of the University infrastructure.

Summarizing the results, the speaker emphasized that the University’s achievements in 2025 were the outcome of the coordinated efforts of the entire staff, who ensured the functioning and development of the higher education institution under wartime conditions. Oleksandr Ivanovych noted that dedication to their work, mutual support, and belief in education as the foundation of the future became a source of strength and confidence for the University, the community, and the state.

The discussion of the Acting Rector’s report was joined by the First Vice-Rector M. Khrolenko, Vice-Rector for Research and International Relations N. Tkachenko, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Pedagogy and Psychology A. Sherudylo, Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Philology and History A. Hrytsenko, Director of the Separate Structural Subdivision “Professional and Pedagogical Applied College of Oleksandr Dovzhenko Hlukhiv National Pedagogical University ” I. Boiarynova, Head of the Department of Preschool Pedagogy and Psychology L. Zahorodnia, and others.

Following the discussion, the conference of the labor collective approved the 2025 report of the Acting Rector, recognizing the work of the University leadership during the reporting year as effective and aligned with the strategic development objectives of the higher education institution.

The conference also considered issues related to the approval of the Collective Agreement of Oleksandr Dovzhenko Hlukhiv National Pedagogical University for 2026–2031 (reported by L. Tokaryk, Head of the Primary Trade Union Organization of academic staff and employees) and amendments to the composition of the Academic Council of the University (reported by Associate Professor I. Kukharchuk, Academic Secretary).

The conference of the labor collective was held in an atmosphere of constructive dialogue and discussion of key issues concerning the University’s activities. The adopted decisions confirmed the unity of the University community and its readiness for further joint work to ensure sustainable development, quality education, and strengthening the position of Oleksandr Dovzhenko Hlukhiv National Pedagogical University within the educational and research landscape.
