From August 18 to 24, Assoc. Prof. Olena Chumachenko, Head of the Department of History, Law and Teaching Methodology, participated in a week-long training programme for lecturers of Ukrainian higher education institutions in Krakow.
The training was organised within the framework of the international project EDC – Education for Democratic Citizenship, supported by the Swedish Institute in partnership with Linnaeus University (Sweden) and Ukrainian and Polish partners.
Over five days, participants worked with leading scholars from Ukraine, Sweden, Spain, and Poland, discussing key challenges to democracy, the role of universities in strengthening democratic culture, and prospects for Ukraine’s European integration. Special attention was given to post-war recovery, democratic governance sustainability, legal harmonisation, and European values. The programme also served as a platform for international cooperation and the exchange of best educational practices.
